Description
What you will learn
This is a excellent project for the beginner.
The wooden frame is in good structural condition but the red tinted varnish is begining to show signs of wear.
If you are interested in woodwork restoration the varnish can be removed to reveal the natural pale wood underneath or you could harness your artistic side and paint the frame.
The drop in seat is fixed Upholstery (no sewing machine required). You will learn how to web the seat and make a new pad ready for recovering in your chosen fabric. You could really have some fun with this one.
What fabric will you choose?
Depending on your skill level, we would estimate around 4 weeks to complete this project. Maybe less if you are keen to work on your chair at home between classes.
Before you buy
You are most welcome make an appointment to visit the chair at workshop and meet us for a face to face chat before purchasing. If you planning to paint the frame you may wish to pop in and collect the chair in advance of your class and paint the frame before upholstering. Please note you are buying the chair only and materials and fabrics needed to transform this chair can be purchased during the classes or we can point you in the right direction to some of our favourite upholstery suppliers to ensure you achive your perfect look.
